This week the ACCC released its latest Compliance and Enforcement Policy. It gives an overview of the ACCC’s priority enforcement areas, and outlines how we will work to achieve compliance with the law.
Agriculture is once again a priority for the ACCC. The focus is on the dairy inquiry, Horticultural Code of Conduct enforcement, and analysis of the viticulture industry.
Farmers and other small businesses in the sector can expect us to continue our work in relation to unfair contract terms. These are non-negotiable terms in contracts which are substantially and unfairly weighted to the benefit of one party. Addressing these will continue to be a priority in 2018.
