WFA to lead Wine Industry Code of Conduct

The issues of cultural change and gender equality have been subject to discussion around the WFA Board table for some time. It is clear to the WFA Board that a first step is an Industry Code of Conduct. Therefore the Board has established a working group to develop this most important Code. There is much to be done and the time has come for action.

Members of the Working Group are:

Tony Battaglene – CEO, Winemakers’ Federation of Australia

Corrina Wright – Winemaker and Director, Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards

Jason Amos – Managing Director, Lallemand Australia

Angie Bradbury – Managing Director, Dig+Fish

Jane Thomson – Founder and Chair, Australian Women in Wine

Kate Harvey – General Manager, Corporate Affairs and Strategy, Wine Australia

James Omond – Omond & Co.

Andrew Weeks – CEO, Australian Vignerons

The following have agreed to act as a referral body as necessary:

Joanna Andrew               Independent Chair, Australian Vignerons

Sandy Clark                      President, Winemakers’ Federation of Australia

Brian Walsh                     Chair, Wine Australia

It is anticipated that a Wine Industry Code of Conduct will be in place within 6 months.
