Call for nominations to the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in Wine (DEIW) Committee

Australian Grape & Wine is calling for nominations to join the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in Wine (DEIW) Committee.

Committee Purpose

The DEIW Committee drives positive cultural change across workplaces in the Australian grape and wine sector. Its role is to foster a more diverse, equal, and inclusive environment by:

• Elevating awareness of DEI issues and sparking constructive action.
• Gathering data and insights to hold businesses accountable to best practice standards.
• Coordinating stakeholders to encourage unified, collaborative initiatives.
• Providing a safe platform for open discussion of DEI challenges and opportunities.

The Committee seeks to frame challenges as opportunities that contribute to both cultural and business success across the sector.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

The DEIW Committee will comprise a minimum of six members and a Chairperson. Members are appointed for three-year terms, with the possibility of renewal by mutual agreement.

Nominations will be assessed with consideration of:

• Diversity of gender, culture, location, and professional background.
• Representation across winemaking, viticulture, company size, and geographical areas.
• Skills, experience, or perspectives relevant to diversity, equality, and inclusion in the wine sector.
• Commitment to constructive participation and collaboration.

While AGW members are the primary focus, eligibility may extend to representatives of non-member companies or those outside the grape and wine sector if they bring unique or relevant expertise.

Deadline

All nominations must be received by Monday, 27 October 2025.
